The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has announced the banning of telecasts of two very popular drama serials which are ARY Digital’s Ishqiya and Hum TV Drama Pyar Ke Sadqay
According to the notification issued by the authority, the action was taken under section 27 of the PEMRA Ordinance. The notification further said that both the drama serials could not aired on ARY Zindagi and HUM Sitaray.
The reason behind the ban is that the content of the dramas is against the teachings of our society. According to PEMRA’s order, neither of these dramas can be telecast again on ARY Zindigi or Hum Satary. Ishqiya drama leading stars are Feroze Khan, Ramsha Khan and Hania Amir. While Pyar Ke Sadqay drama stars are Yumna Zaidi, Bilal Abbas and Atiqa Odho.
The dramas that have expired cannot be telecast again as it has been announced by PEMRA. At the end of the notification, PEMRA warned the channels to make dramas in accordance with the values of our society, otherwise dramas will banned without any warning.
The press release said that PEMRA has repeatedly informed the concerned channels about the concerns of the viewers about these dramas and directed them to adapt the content of the dramas in accordance with social, religious, societal and moral values.
In the notice issued, PEMRA announced that it had received complaints against the drama serial Jalan and was looking into the matter.
PEMRA has directed all TV channels, media houses and production houses to review the contents of dramas.
