After an order from the White House, Google has stopped business with Huawei last week. They are no longer in the business partnership. Now Huawei is at the verge of the US and China trade war. Because of this ban, Huawei would not be able to use Android upcoming applications and features. In response to this, Alaa Elshimy Managing Director and Vice President of Huawei said that they were already working on its own OS to replace Android in the future. The company also stated that they are self-sufficient in both hardware and software. It sounds great that they were already preparing themselves and the Sanction would not affect them in any way.
Huawei OS is under Development:
It was reported by three Chinese media groups; now Huawei OS ‘HengMong’ is under development. After successful experiments, it will take the place of Android systematically. Huawei is developing this OS with the help of other big brand engineers. As Google doesn’t have any business in China, therefore it will be easy to shift to another operating system because it won’t take a long time. On the other hand, we cannot ignore the fact that Huawei OS will lack its support of Google apps and Google play store.
Challenges in Development:
Mr. Yu Chengdong Executive Director of Huawei has claimed that the OS would be 60 % faster than any other operating system. Alaa Elshimy also told that they are using their own chipset, which is why they can enhance the speed as much as they want. But at this stage, the question arises whether the OS would be compatible as android is? Yu has also affirmed that Huawei OS would be compatible with Mobile phones, TV cars, tablets, and all other smart devices.
Not Launching in June:
The news was also rolling out from the last two weeks about its launch. Earlier TechRadar said the app is launching in June but then Huawei denied the launch of its operating system in June and informed TechRadar that there was some internal confusion. They have cleared that their home-grown operating system would be launching this year in China and internationally in 2020.
Conclusion:
The Chinese company has shared the response on this matter that is;
“We will continue to build a safe and sustainable software ecosystem, in order to provide the best experience for all users globally.”
It sounds exciting that a new Mobile OS is coming to the market. It may put an end to the monopoly of the mobile OS market. I’m eager to know how this OS will sustain in the market and grab the user’s attention. Will the company survive without US technologies? If Huawei successfully launched its OS, would you buy a Huawei phone? Please do share your thoughts in the comments section below.
